Dr Shaun Thompson
Dr. Shaun A. Thompson is the founder of expatdental® and hails from the USA. He has been working in Singapore since 2009 and has gained invaluable experience providing high quality care for expatriate families since opening expatdental® in 2013.
He practices general family dentistry with keen interests in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, facial aesthetics (i.e. injectables), dental sleep medicine (i.e. snoring & sleep apnea) and sedation dentistry. Dr. Thompson combines the use of the latest imaging and 3D printing technology with his strong service ethos to make dental care a positive and hassle-free experience for everyone. As a parent, he knows how important it is to make every member of the family happy, healthy and consistent in their dental care.
Dr. Shaun received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with honors and leadership recognition from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in Memphis. During COVID, he studied blockchain technology and applications in dentistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, Singapore Dental Association and the Aesthetic Dentistry Society of Singapore (AAED/IFED).
His wife and family enjoy exploring Southeast Asia. In addition to holding a master SCUBA diver certification, his recreational interests include kite surfing, athletics and travel. He routinely volunteers and serves with humanitarian efforts around the world, most recently in Siem Reap, Cambodia. (www.caringforcambodia.org).
