expatdental® offers a full range of orthodontic treatment for the whole family. Services include braces, Invisalign®, adult orthodontics, retainers and orthodontic appliances.
expatdental® offers traditional metal braces, clear braces and lingual braces. We also offer clear aligners such as Invisalign® and smilogy®. At your consult, the doctor will discuss your concerns and expectations and provide recommendations. After your consult, you will receive a detailed treatment plan with associated costs.
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, a child should have their first evaluation no later than age 7. Even though at that age kids still have many baby teeth, certain permanent teeth should have come through already. An orthodontist can begin to detect problems such as crowding, or bite issues that can interfere with the child’s growth and development.
Some of the possible benefits of early treatment include resolution of crossbites, creation of space and guidance for eruption of permanent teeth, reducing risk of trauma to protrusive front teeth, maintaining space where baby teeth have been lost early, and reducing treatment time for full braces.
It should be made clear that comprehensive treatment should not be done at this early age. The check-up may reveal that your child’s bite is fine; however, in some cases interceptive early treatment can help avoid more serious problems later on, or enable the orthodontist to achieve final results in the long term that would not be possible if left until the jaws have finished growing.
A significant percentage of our orthodontic patients are actually adults. You are never too old to fix that crooked tooth that’s been bothering you, or improve a smile that makes you feel self-conscious. Perhaps the general dentist has expressed to you that your bite is causing some of your teeth to wear down prematurely. These are just some of the reasons why more adults are deciding to go through orthodontic treatment.
Braces can work at any age! However, Some adults associate orthodontic treatment with teenagers and feel like they would be awkward in a social or work setting. For those patients, we do offer clear braces or Invisalign® as treatment alternatives. At your consult, the doctor will assess what is needed and which treatment alternatives would be suitable for you.
For patients who have gone through orthodontic treatment and want to keep things where they are, we provide retainers and other orthodontic appliances. Depending on your case, both fixed and removable retainers are available.

1. Orthodontic consultation
Our dentist and you will talk about your concerns and expectations. They will also answer any questions you may have about the process. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all orthodontic approach. Our dentist will show you the various brace and clear aligners options, while taking both your time and budget into consideration.
2. Treatment plan
After we understand what you want, we'll outline a clear treatment plan with associated pricing. Once we agree on the plan, the next step will be to get a baseline of your teeth by taking x-rays, photos and digital 3D scans.
3. Brace application or aligners creation
Depending on the treatment option you choose, we will apply your new braces or take scans for your clear aligners.
4. Monitoring
It's vital to properly monitor your orthodontic treatments. Our dentist will see you about every 6 weeks to ensure a smooth process and to make any needed adjustments. This also allows us to get to know you better! Because seeing you smile, makes us smile.
5. Completion & removal (if necessary)
Once your orthodontic treatment has been completed, we will need to remove any fixed appliances and provide directions for aftercare and maintenance.
5. Follow-up
After your final treatment, we'll schedule a 1 month follow up to check-in. This also gives us a chance to make sure you are keeping up with your retainer, which helps maintain your bite.
We believe in having a technological approach when it comes to carrying out our orthodontic treatments at expatdental®. This allows our patients to stay more engaged because they can see the results we’re aiming for and design their treatment in a way that suits them.
A core philosophy in our approach is to make sure we help give you the smile YOU want. We regularly check-in to make sure we’re on the same page and that we’re both happy with how the treatment is going.

Pricing FAQs
Simply put, orthodontics is one of our passions. There are 3 key reasons our patients choose expatdental® for their orthodontic treatment:
- Orthodonic treatment options – We offer metal braces, ceramic braces and lingual braces. We also offer Invisalign® as well as other tried and tested clear aligner options.
- UK-trained Dental Surgeon – Dr Clara is not only a Uk-trained Dental Surgeon, but she has a lovely rapport with her patients.
- Transparent plan and pricing – When it comes to pricing, no one likes surprises. We’ll outline and agree to everything before treatment begins so you can be confident in the process.
There is no standard price for an orthodontic treatment. That’s because we build a custom treatment plan for your unique situation. There are many ways to get the smile you’re after so let’s design a treatment plan that fits your schedule and budget.
Please note that if you commit to a full treatment plan, we will roll the cost of the consultation into the price of the dental work.
You can’t ever guarantee anything with the human body, but what we can do is stand by our work. When we outline your treatment, we include a timeline. As long as you are an active participant and complete the treatment outlines, then we will continue orthodontics with you until we get your smile where it needs to be – at no additional charge.
Most cases are done as a downpayment and then subsequent monthly payments. We accept major credit cards, NETS, direct bank transfers, and cash.
We know that orthodontics is an investment in both time and money. This is why it is essential to keep up with any retainers and/or other orthodontic appliances. As long as you maintain your aftercare, your smile should remain corrected.
Process FAQs
We are firm believers that dentistry shouldn’t hurt. Orthodontics has come a long way. We have many different treatment options, and many different ways to manage any discomfort you might feel. Most patients are quite surprised at how smooth the treatment is and at how little symptoms they noticed.
Like most things in dentistry, keeping things clean and keeping up with your routine dental and hygiene appointments is key. Seeing your orthodontist is NOT the same as getting your routine 6 month cleaning and dental check.
Any other specific care will be discussed with you during your treatment.
expatdental® offers orthodontic treatment with all types of braces. We have traditional metal braces and wires, as well as more aesthetic options such as clear braces and white wires. At your consult, the doctor will go over orthodontic issues, whether they be cosmetic or functional. A treatment plan and estimated time will be assessed, and we will go over your options for treatment.
- Metal braces – These are the most commonly used type of brackets for treatment. We use only the highest quality stainless steel brackets from the United States, from well known and reputable companies. Should you need to transfer during your treatment, your new doctor should recognize and be familiar with the braces.
- Clear braces – Clear braces are very similar in size and shape to metal brackets, the only difference is that they are made from ceramic porcelain. They are a good option if patients are more concerned about visibility of the brackets during treatment.
- Invisalign® & clear aligners – Invisalign® is a form of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear plastic trays to move your teeth. If the doctor decides at your consult that your case is suitable for Invisalign®, a digital scan of your teeth will be taken and sent to the manufacturer. The doctor will then work with the technicians on your treatment prescription. Each tray is planned for a specific movement, and your teeth will move gradually over time as the trays are replaced.
One thing that’s very important when it comes to orthodontics is monitoring. This is why you will have 6 week check-ins with our orthodontist. Believe it or not, teeth can move too quickly or too, much causing root damage.
The process will depend on what you’re trying to achieve. For someone who has never had orthodontics, it can be anywhere from 12-24 months.
If you’ve had treatment before but need some adjustments, then it ranges from 4-8 months.
To align your smile, we will gather A LOT of data. This included photos as well as our dental technology:
- Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)
- 3 Shape Intra-Oral Scanner
- 3D printer
Patient Transfers FAQs
Yes, at expatdental® we are very familiar and comfortable with continuation of treatment that was started elsewhere. At your consult, we will give you an estimated length of treatment remaining as well as a breakdown of payment options. Please contact your transferring office for all necessary records, or if you let us know we are happy to contact them for you before the scheduled consult time.
If by chance you do have to leave before treatment is complete, we provide all necessary transfer records as well as a standardized transfer form from the American Association of Orthodontists. We are happy to work with you and the new office on making sure the transfer goes smoothly and disruption to treatment is minimal.
