Unsatisfied with your teeth? Facings offer a simple solution. We’ll explain the features of the treatment and what you can expect.
What are Veneers?
Also known as facings, facets, or shieldings, veneers are a versatile option for improving your smile. If you’re looking to correct crooked teeth, yellow teeth, small teeth, or teeth with chips, facings or veneers are the answer. These terms refer to the same dental procedure that can address a variety of imperfections in your teeth. Let’s explore the key features of this treatment and what you can expect from the process.
Feature 1: Custom-made facings
The term “veneer” originally comes from woodworking and furniture making, referring to a thin layer of wood or varnish applied to the surface. In dental terms, veneers are thin porcelain shells placed on the front of your teeth to make them look whiter and straighter. Each veneer is custom-made because every smile is unique. For example, the veneers might be slightly thicker in areas where the teeth are too small, where a piece has broken off, or where there are gaps between teeth. Because Expat Dental veneers are personalized, you can also choose the shape that you find most attractive.
Feature 2: Permanent white teeth, no discoloration
Porcelain veneers do not discolor because they are made of porcelain, not composite. Composite is cheaper, but it doesn’t retain its white color as long. You can choose the color of your facings based on your preference. We consider how transparent the porcelain is (how much light your veneers let through) and the color of the bonding cement used to attach the veneers.
Feature 3: A new smile in just a few steps
During your first visit, we create a simulation of your new smile with our proprietary software and provide you with a detailed quote. Four weeks later, you’ll return for the placement. This process is quick, simple, and completely painless because we do not grind down any of your existing teeth.
