Born in Singapore, Lay lived in Seattle until she returned to the red dot in 2012. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degrees in Dental Assisting (Magna Cum Laude) and Dental Hygiene (Magna Cum Laude) from Lake Washington Institute of Technology. Prior to her dental education, she attained a degree in Business Administration (with Distinction and Cum Laude) from University of Washington in Seattle.
She was a recipient of the Life Long Learning Grant sponsored by Washington Dental Hygienists’ Association (WDHA) in 2009, and completed her Masters of Science degree in Oral Biology at University of Washington in 2010. Lay began her teaching career at Clark College in Washington, and she is currently teaching as a Senior Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic while practicing since 2013 at Expat Dental.
Lay cared for patients from all walks of life in private practice settings in Seattle, and also treated special needs patients at the Dental Education in the Care of Persons with Disabilities (DECOD) Clinic in the School of Dentistry, University of Washington. At Expat Dental, she constantly strives for high standards of care and quality experiences for her patients as she advocates for good oral health and overall well-being.
She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), Washington Dental Hygienists’ Association (WDHA) and Association for Oral Health Therapists (AOHT) Singapore. Lay also serves on the Oral Health Therapist Accreditation Committee in Singapore Dental Council. She enjoys reading, hiking and traveling for leisure, and spending quality time with her family.
