After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Cooper went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree and complete his pediatric dental residency at the same institution.  Dr. Cooper later attended the Ohio State University where he completed his orthodontic residency.    

His professional career began in academia where he taught for 8 years at Baylor College of Dentistry and the Medical University of South Carolina.   Dr. Cooper later founded the Department of Orthodontics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.  Finally, Dr. Cooper opened his own 3 office private practice in Nashville, Tennessee where he served his patients’ orthodontic needs for over 15 years.  For the five years proceeding his move to Singapore, Dr. Cooper practiced pediatric dentistry at Coastal Pediatric Dentistry in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Throughout his career, he has been on staff at multiple hospitals including the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Center and the Alaska Native Medical Center. 

Dr. Cooper is fortunate enough to have travelled and worked in many remote villages across the southern part of Alaska.  He has organised and served on numerous dental missions to countries like Costa Rica, Vietnam and the Philippines.  He attended several mini-residencies in craniofacial rehabilitation including UNC Chapel Hill, Duke Univ, UCLA, and Toronto SickKids Hospitals.   He has spoken at numerous events including the British Paediatric Dental Society annual meeting as well as the Dallas Mid-Winter Meeting.  In addition to his full time position with Expat Dental, Dr. Cooper is currently Director of Global Outreach and part-time consultant for the division of pediatric dentistry at Southern Dental Alliance in Kennesaw, Georgia.  He is thrilled to join his friends here at Expat Dental to serve the needs of children and young adults in Singapore.
